The Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort is the only resort located on the east coast of Moorea. It offers stunning views of the island of Tahiti in the distance. The main feature of the Sofitel is a beautiful stretch of white sand beach – the longest beach on Moorea!
The resort also offers amazing snorkeling right off the beach. The lagoon waters at the resort are a protected marine environment with almost no motorized boat traffic, making it a snorkelers paradise.
The resort is quite modern and offers a very European feel.
At the Sofitel, you can enjoy a selection of in-resort dining options with fine cuisine as well as more casual options. Be sure to check out the “Le K” restaurant with its sand floor and candlelight ambiance.
You can also travel to a nearby local restaurant to experience the true flavor of Moorea. Nearly all the local restaurants will include a complimentary transfer for Sofitel Moorea guests, so be sure to check-out some of the local cuisine too.

The Sofitel does charge a small fee for use of some of their watercraft. You can also rent bikes right at the resort. The Sofitel also has an onsite dive center open daily from 8am to 5pm.

The annual Underwater Photographer of the Year competition, based in Great Britain, has chosen an image taken in August 2020 off the coast of Moorea!
Winning photographer, American Renee Capozzola, captured shark's at sunset from underwater. The photo named "Shark's Skylight" is an excellent tribute to these special residents of French Polynesia. Hats off to Renee for her excellent work. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
